Greetings friends, in place of our regular monthly meeting and to allow your livers to rest up for the early December DCB Beer Friday we will be celebrating winter beers at Williams pad. Details follow. I will be bringing the seasonal releases of Gulden Draak and Delirium Tremens if I can hold out that long. They sure look inviting in my fridge. =)

2332 Harding Ave. Redwood City 94062 lost? call 650.868.7200

A half mile from Jefferson and Alameda De Las Polgas. I’ve got 6 or 8 beers stashed so far for this. I will have food, probably a pot of chili and bread, chips. The event is indoor/outdoor so dress appropriately.

Please bring something you like to share, even if its an opinion.

In the spirit of the Holiday season, respectful friends, family welcome. The more the merrier. cheers!

Williams 2009 Winter Beer Tasting

Beer club tonight

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

Hello all, just back from my morning run and just as well I snuck it in today because word has come in that Kash has indeed procured us some fancy gravity fed beer from Gordon Biersch for tonight, we will also be trying some of the fest beers the Haus has on tap for anyone that missed the Oktoberfest last weekend.

Come one come all, like most nights but especially tonight there will be too much beer for us to try. If you haven’t paid your dues please remember to tonight (50/year), for our casual friends, there is a paltry $5 tasting fee or you can bring a beer to share. We play it easy.

Great Brooks on Beer article in today’s San Mateo Times about a Trappist Brewery here in California and their partnership with Sierra Nevada.

Sam Adam’s announced this year’s Long Shot winners, go home brewers Rodney Kibzey, Richard Roper, and employee winner Caitlin DeClercq!

Next month I will have a subscription to a home brew magazine to give away so all interested should definitely plan to be at the October meeting. See everyone tonight and don’t forget to follow us on Facebook; email is so yesterday. Plus it isn’t twitter which apparently forgot all about cross site scripts. Oops.

Next meeting – July 21st 6:30pm @ Haus Staudt – outside!

Monday, July 19th, 2010

It’s that time again, our next meeting looms. I was thinking in honor of the world cup a Spanish versus Germany replay via head to head beer tasting. It’s proving harder than I expected due to the fact that Spain seems to lack a lot of Craft breweries but I think I’m on to a few quality beers from Spain. So it’s 6:30pm, July 21st, outside.

Volker mentioned he has a limited 20 person (10 seats still available) tasting of rare and innovative beers hosted by Chris (well known on the forums of Beer Advocate for his insight into the taste and styles of beer) at the Haus in August. Details and cost can be found at the Haus. If interested, stop on by the Haus to make your reservation. Think I mentioned Haus Staudt enough? Many thanks to Volker for allowing us to meet at his fine German beer garden.

K&L put a bunch of recently arrived beer on the shelves this weekend, expect an email with details from Bryan this week or just stop by and peruse the new cold locker. Their renovation is nearly complete.

A brewers among us should check out the South Bay’s brewing club – Worts of Wisdom. They had a great showing at the San Mateo Fair beer judging and are a wealth of information for virgins and veterans alike. They are also sponsored by More Beer, the peninsula’s best place to buy brewing supplies.

It’s also time to renew the dues, renewal is $50 for the year or you can pay as you go if you only attend a few meetings a year. For the dues you get to see me! Every month! How awesome is that? Oh and monthly tastings, a bbq, camaraderie and the 411 on the local craft beer scene. It’s a bargain!

Oh and Jerry is a grandfather! So if you want to congratulate him, send emails to Jerry AT =)

February meeting

Friday, February 19th, 2010

SFBeerWeek is finished, Mardi Gras is history, so your livers should be recovered. It’s strong beer month and we will be talking strong beer at our next meeting. It’s set for Wednesday, 2/24/2010 at 6:30pm at Haus Staudt. I’ll be busy Wednesday mornign picking up the beers for the tasting but feel free to email call me if

Ballast Point Sculpin IPA (only 20 liters) is on the guest tap at Haus Staudt, so get on down to try this tasty and really limited release Indian Pale Ale.

Prost. JT

Update: location revealed!

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

Meeting: Extreme beer! 6:30 PM Haus Staudt -1/20/2010

As a few of you already know, Haus Staudt is Redwood City’s hidden gem – an authentic German beer garden. Volker, the owner, has kindly invited us down to try the latest beer from Brew Dog and Stone brewing. We will be meeting at the normal time (6:30pm), but instead of Angelica’s we’ll be there. Volker received 1 of the only 2 kegs sold in the area. It’s a real treat to get to sample this beer.

Tasting: Brew Dog Bashah, Devil’s Canyon Three Monkeys Barley Wine, Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA.

If anyone gets lost, has questions or needs help finding it please call me. 650-544-7906. Directions follow.

Haus Staudt is located behind the Gourmet Haus Staudt german store on Broadway and directly across from City Pub. It’s entrance is in the back corner of the small parking lot off California. Don’t park in the lot, it’s for the bank only. If coming down Broadyway, make your first left (onto California) after crossing the train tracks and park on the street there or in the Caltrain lot. If you hit El Camino you went one block to far.

Since I am procurring the other samples, can everyone kindly RSVP so I can get a count? Thanks and see you all tomorrow night.

Next meeting January 20th 2010 – 6:30pm

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Quick update, we will be tasting extreme beers at a location to be determined. The RWC beer club is going to take on a more community wide mantle in the coming months. Details coming soon. Check back often. JT
