R’Ocktober Meeting and 99 bottles…

Our next meeting is Wednesday, October 14th at 6:30pm in the bar area at Angelica’s Bistro. Hope to see you all there.

Please come dressed as your favorite rock star and be prepared to karaoke their biggest hit! Ha-ha just kidding. Our guest this month will be Michael Hartman of B United International and we will be tasting a few beer from Scotland’s Harviestoun Brewery in Clackmanshire. Here are some he may be bringing.

Drink – Type

– Bitter & Twisted – Bitter
– Old Engine Oi – Old Ale
– Old Engine Oil Special Reserve – Old Ale aged in whisky casks
– Ola Dubh – matured in Highland Park Cask

“Harviestoun is a British brewery founded in 1984 by Ken Brooker in a 200 year old stone barn on a farm in Dollar, Clackmannanshire, Scotland. Moved in 2004 to Alva Industrial Estate in Alva, Scotland. Was bought by Caledonian Brewery in 2006. Harviestoun produces cask ales and filtered bottled beers. The most notable brands are Schiehallion, Bitter & Twisted and Old Engine Oil.”

Jerry saw this earlier this week and wanted to share with the Beer Club.

99 Bottles of Beer coming to U.C. Berkeley Hearst Museum

I don’t usually associate museums with beer, but that’s exactly what’s going to happen next month at the Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology on the U.C. Berkeley campus. All in the name of education, of course. ….

Brooks on Beer covers it too, but Jerry new first!
